606 thoughts for individuals under the influence of financial markets, the global economy and politics.
The artist investigates the impact of finances, stock exchanges, capitalism, lobbying, elite networks, think tanks, neoliberalism, global business, religion and politics on individuals striving for control of their lives in the age of globalization. Dieter Huber juxtaposes quotations gathered from divergent philosophical, political and religious camps with questions about the present situation and a number of motifs related to the issues in question.
ASSETS+CLAIMS is the product of more than six years of extensive research, which also included active involvement in the work of an investment bank and an international business enterprise. The work is presented for the first time at the Kunstverein Paradigma.

He recognized the smallness and narrowness of his thoughts and actions.
Under the pressure of some task which meant a great deal to him,
he learned to see how his smallness, his pettiness, endangered his happiness.
In other words, a great man knows when and in what way he is a little man.
A little man does not know he is little and is afraid to know.
He hides his pettiness and narrowness behind illusions of strength and greatness,
someone else’s strength and greatness.

ALPHA-LOOP wahrer Preis/falsche Rechnung
A tee-shirt for around 4 EUR, a 1,000-km flight for 19.90 EUR, a cleaning woman for 5 EUR an hour, a wellness trip for two for about 99 EUR, a blowjob for 20 EUR, a kilogram of pork for 1.225 EUR (NL, week 42, 2014). We live in Central Europe, in one of the richest countries in the world, and are well acquainted with the vagaries of free markets. The problems have become global and irreversible under the influence of neoliberalism. Often faced with opposing challenges and conflicting interests, people in the various nations of the world no longer share a common denominator. Yet it should all be so simple: The price of every product and every service is determined with reference to the full life cycle of its production and effective function. That begins with the idea and encompasses the entire life cycle of a product or service up to and including the reintegration of all utilized resources and human regeneration. Justifying a tax increase on the basis of a partial pseudo-cycle disguised in a green mantel is merely a political trick.
The graphic illustrating the “ALPHA LOOP” presents an abbreviated model for the determination of true prices for products and services on the basis of fair, harmonized international standards. The objective is a complete calculation of the costs of the total material management and services cycle consisting of the five realization phases. As the graphic clearly shows, the often quoted offering prices cited above cannot possibly be real, given the effective costs to mankind and nature. Equally absurd are the continual tax increases imposed by an effete caste of politicians in national governments. I would plead for a tabula rasa, a complete recalculation of all prices for products and services on the basis of an all-encompassing cost model. Genuine thrift saves money; real expenditures cost money. People are highly complex beings with diverse wants and needs; and without generosity, everything is reduced to grim routine.
